About the Project
PsySocFear-F is a research project focused on investigating psychosocial factors associated with fear of cancer recurrence among women diagnosed with breast and gynecological cancers.
Why is this topic important?
Completing active cancer treatment does not necessarily mean the end of dealing with the consequences of the disease. Fear of cancer recurrence may remain present during life after treatment and can affect emotional functioning, everyday life and quality of life.
Understanding the factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of fear of cancer recurrence is important for developing appropriate psychological support for people who have completed cancer treatment.
Focus of the Project
The project focuses on investigating psychological and social factors that may be associated with fear of cancer recurrence.
Particular attention is given to the experiences of women diagnosed with breast and gynecological cancers and to possibilities for improving psychological support during the period after treatment.
Application of the Results
The project results are expected to contribute to a better understanding of the needs of people living after cancer treatment and to provide a basis for the development of educational materials, workshops and recommendations relevant to professional practice.
