A new article related to the topic of fear of cancer recurrence has been published in the magazine Ljepota i zdravlje, featuring the PsySocFear-F project.
This week, on 21 July 2026, Associate Professor Ana Petak, PhD and Dora Korać, MA in Psychology, conducted the first of a series of planned qualitative research activities as part of the project Psychosocial factors as predictors of fear of cancer recurrence in women diagnosed with breast and gynecological cancers (PsySocFear-F).
The project is an interdisciplinary project of the Faculty of Croatian Studies, funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU), with a research team comprising researchers and professionals from different fields.
The aim of the project is to investigate psychological and social factors associated with fear of cancer recurrence and to contribute to the development of high-quality psychological support for women and their families, educational materials, recommendations for professional practice and education for professionals.
The research was conducted in Osijek, where participants openly shared their experiences from the moment of diagnosis, through the period of active treatment, to the challenges of everyday life after completing therapy.
We gained valuable insights into their needs during and after treatment, which will provide an important basis for shaping upcoming project activities according to the real needs of the women involved.
